How to make sri lankan "Konda kavum" (Oil cake)

"Konda kavum" Recipe 

Konda Kavum is most popular traditional sweets in Sri Lanka. Also "Konda Kavum" is mainly famous during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year season.

Today in this article will show you "How to make sri lankan Konda kavum" using simple steps.

It's easy first lets see ingredient list.

"Konda kavum"  ingredient list  (This ingredient Enough for 10 - 15 kavum)
✪ Wheat flour - 100 grams
✪ Rice flour - 200 grams
✪ Oil
✪ Kithul treacle (Kithul pani)
✪ Warm water -  100 ml
✪ Sugar - 100 grams
✪ One table spoons of roasted  Fennel seeds 

Preparation
Mix wheat flour and rice flour mix well together 
✪ Make center in flour mixture and pour kithul treacle (kithul pani / kithul honey) to it  

✪ Now mix well wheat flour , rice flour , kithul treacle and add water mix until paste


✪ Now add fennel seeds and mix well

✪ Next keep mixture at least 5 hours until thick  


✪ After 5 hours add oil to "Thaatchi" and heat it next use cup with a pointed tip to pour the mixture , pour mixture to into hot oil


✪ Pour more from mixture in the center to make "KONDA" also lightly bat the kavum with oil

✪ Poke the center with stick and twirl the stick to bring out the " "konda " and bat the kavum with oil 

✪ Next take out "Konda kavum"  when it's turn golden brown

✪ Now taste Konda Kavum
